App Version 2 shows: "Network Unavailable"

I’m running Openhabian 4.2.1 on a Raspi 4/8GB. I use BasicUI with no credentials. Today I wanted to open my lock with my Apple Watch and noticed that the App was removed from my device. I then noticed that overnight the iOS App was downdated to come w/o watch support. I then installed the new app. It does not seem to work as it claims that the “Network is unavailable”.

Now I am sitting w/o watch support which is a bit annoying. I appreciate that many volunteers are working on this product. But why cripple an existing and working app ? Then there would be no rush to gradually migrate to the new app.

Thanks for listening. Any idea why the new app isn’t working ? I have reset and set the app rights for using the local network to no avail. Using the openhabian IP address instead of hostname did not change anything either.

As always, please provide more information about app version, iOS version, Did you try removing and reinstalling the app?
It seems that the old app was installed on your device.

App Version 3.05, iOS 17.6.1

Uninstalled V1, uninstalled V2, reinstalled V2. Entered the settings again. Now it says briefly „connecting“ and shows the spinning wheel and remains that way.

It works on iphone and ipad without username and password. Even remote access via vpn to locale url cause no trouble. (OH 4.3 snapshot 4255)

Please try http instead of https

Martin, we had little choice, Apple would not let us push a new version of the exiting app with watch support do to an issue with the watch ID, this is why there have been no updates to the app in over a year. Thats not something we could continue supporting. As for your specific issue with the app, please open a ticket up at Issues · openhab/openhab-ios · GitHub , and include as much detail as possible, including screen shots of the config screen, if SSL is used, etc…

Same here… :frowning:

Got the ‘legacy’ message in the iPhone app v1.
Downloaded the ‘official’ app from the AppStore; v3.0.5 (11)
iPhone 11
iOS 17.6.1
openHAB 3.4.3

Opened the new OH app

It comes up with a “network is not available” error. However, app version 1 still works.

I did delete the v2 app and reinstalled it; same result.

Any hints appreciated

Same for me. “Error network is not available” in new app while the old app and browser access to local lan http url works. iOS 17.6.1 iPhone 13

Same here on all devices:
2 devices iOS 17.6.1 iPhone 15
one IOS 15.6.1 iPad (6 generation)

I use https for local and remote access, both work without an issue here.

Please note: iOS app v2 requires iOS version 16.

I have 4 devices all working fine with app v2. Same as hmerk, https is activated.

I do not know your full use case but you could also create an iOS shortcut to open a lock. If you have an Ultra watch you can assign the shortcut to the action button.

Do not uninstall V1. After I did that I could not get V1 to work again.

After I uninstalled V1 I was not able to get it running again. Removed V2 and reinstalled V1. After setting it up (no passwords) I got a spinning wheel spinning forever (as I did with V2).

Update: after a couple of minutes version 1 also shows: Network unavailable :grimacing:

Update 2: rebooting and reinstalling V1 does not help either

Unfortunately you still did not provide any information on your config or test configuration. This will make it more difficult for the maintainer to identify the problem and help you.

had the same issue
Iphone SE
iOS 17.6.1 (21G93)

I installed app 3.04 (10) via testflight and now it works again.

also uninstalled the app couple of times but always got “network error”

I have both running on the same phones without any issue.

What kind of information besides what I provided already can be helpful ?

One thing to be mentioned might be that NO pages exist within Openhab. Only BasicUI sitemaps ….

Is local network enabled in the ios app settings?

Sure. As stated in my first post.
