I’m running Openhabian 4.2.1 on a Raspi 4/8GB. I use BasicUI with no credentials. Today I wanted to open my lock with my Apple Watch and noticed that the App was removed from my device. I then noticed that overnight the iOS App was downdated to come w/o watch support. I then installed the new app. It does not seem to work as it claims that the “Network is unavailable”.
Now I am sitting w/o watch support which is a bit annoying. I appreciate that many volunteers are working on this product. But why cripple an existing and working app ? Then there would be no rush to gradually migrate to the new app.
Thanks for listening. Any idea why the new app isn’t working ? I have reset and set the app rights for using the local network to no avail. Using the openhabian IP address instead of hostname did not change anything either.
As always, please provide more information about app version, iOS version, Did you try removing and reinstalling the app?
It seems that the old app was installed on your device.
Uninstalled V1, uninstalled V2, reinstalled V2. Entered the settings again. Now it says briefly „connecting“ and shows the spinning wheel and remains that way.
Martin, we had little choice, Apple would not let us push a new version of the exiting app with watch support do to an issue with the watch ID, this is why there have been no updates to the app in over a year. Thats not something we could continue supporting. As for your specific issue with the app, please open a ticket up at Issues · openhab/openhab-ios · GitHub , and include as much detail as possible, including screen shots of the config screen, if SSL is used, etc…
I do not know your full use case but you could also create an iOS shortcut to open a lock. If you have an Ultra watch you can assign the shortcut to the action button.
After I uninstalled V1 I was not able to get it running again. Removed V2 and reinstalled V1. After setting it up (no passwords) I got a spinning wheel spinning forever (as I did with V2).
Update: after a couple of minutes version 1 also shows: Network unavailable
Update 2: rebooting and reinstalling V1 does not help either
Unfortunately you still did not provide any information on your config or test configuration. This will make it more difficult for the maintainer to identify the problem and help you.
