I have a suggestion which others may or not agree with. The forum search defaults to sort search results by relevance. Regulars love to tell new folks to search the forum, the search is a support tool. I find myself constantly switching the sort to most recent so I don’t end up reading a thread from three or four years ago. We seem to have a problem with old threads giving people outdated information.
Wouldn’t it be better if the search defaulted to ‘Most Recent’ ?
Here is my rational:
personally, I find the results of using most recent to be every bit as relevant as the relavant sort method. How does the sort decide ‘relevance’ anyhow? (probably baked into the website software) Wouldn’t having it search by most recent might cause less problems with new people stubbling onto old threads with outdated information
