Coffee Maker / Coffee Machine made smart?

I’m looking at a fully automatic coffee machine that can be made smart.

Of course there are the really expensive ones that offer an interface (of some sort) out of the box. But > € 1.500 for such a device is above what I’d like to spend.

There also appear to be hacks for specific models (e.g. the Jura ENA 7), but this specific model is also close to > € 1.000, and an ESP has to emulate a protocol, which is also somehow tricky.

Therefore I am wondering: What’s the dominant way to have automatic coffee via an automatic machine if you don’t want to a) spend > € 1.000 and are not a conoisseur (so the coffee of any random € 300-machine would do). Is there a machine that offers a simple on/off-switch which you could trigger via an ESP?

Any best practices out there?

You can try to use a „switch bot“.
A little device which can turn on/off your machine.

well you could use a smart switch with this one for around 30 bucks US.

Or if you want to be a fancy and have a truly smart coffee maker you could get this and hack the app or teach alexa skill. for around 90 dollars US

TBH I do not know how much 1500 quid is in US dollars…
But here in the US any decent coffee maker that brews a tolerable cup is around 80 to 100 bucks everything cheaper scalds the coffee pretty bad!.
