Eclipse smart home designer / macOS sierra

Hello,

I have some problems regarding the latest eclipse smart home designer version on macOS sierra.

Get some error written to a log file in .eclipse folder.

Had the eclipse smart home ide installed first but deleted all folders of it.

Would be great if somebody could help me.

Thanks a lot
Lorenz

A part of the logfile since the whole file is to big and i cannot upload files:

Also I have a similar problem, recently upgraded to sierra and downloaded the openhab designer when starting it crashes with a log file like that:

Does anyone is working with the designer on Sierra already ?

Hi everyone, I did install recent idk 1.8 from Oracle site and now it’s starting without any problem. So give it a shot with:

java version "1.8.0_101"

Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_101-b13)
Java HotSpot™ 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.101-b13, mixed mode)

thanks misieg, that indeed did the trick, running ok now

Unfortunately a newer Java version does not solve the problem for me:

EDIT: Ok, I have solved it, the real reason for this issue is described here
