I have this problem on #1020. Can’t get some items to work, same error in the logs. I’ve restarted 10+ times. Any idea how to troubleshoot?
No, sorry, haven’t seen this error again, but am still on #1002.
Any idea who I could ask? I’m stuck with no idea how to troubleshoot, delete the items or fix the issue… who “owns” this part of OH2 (and what part is it)?
Update: This issue is intermittent for me on build 1023. Three of four times on an OH2 restart I will get this error - but every once in a while it loads fine.
Currently on snapshot 1043 and I’m still getting these errors on startup. I’d guesss that Openhab is starting up correctly <1 in 10 times. No errors beyond the duplicate item issues.
I experience the same issue on the latest 2.2 build.
I’m seeing this once in a while, restart always fixes it … despite that openHAB snapshot runs great 
I’m having this annoying issue as well…sometimes when snapshot updating in between builts via apt-get it gets fixed, but after another restart of the service again I loose lables for items that are defined via PaperUI. The items i defined simply in items file are all fine.
Is there anything we could provide in order to get it fixed or know a procedure to repair our systems.

Impact:

Occurrence of issue: 9/10 restarts
Hard to believe… Version 2.2 after more than two years development and we have to start openhab2 9-12 times until it works. I’ve tried OH2 since the first alpha-version but i’m still on OH1 due to such errors.
Don’t talk in general, I’m seeing this issue only once in a while (about one in 10 restarts).
openHAB 2.2 runs extremely stable since around builds #980 and up. And I always upgrade as soon as an ESH update is pushed into the distro (about every two weeks)
May be not in general, but with my zwave devices only one of 10 restarts doesn’t need further restarts and if the problem occurs, then at least 6 restarts are necessary (more than 10 are also possible). It took me a long time to realize, that restarting openhab resolves the problem.
I’m pretty sure there is some other problem with your system which causes this.
Either related to a hardware issue (weak power supply, …) or maybe from tinkering around with different settings there may be some leftovers in the cache or whatever. Also dead nodes may cause this or nodes which were not properly excluded from the network.
If it were a general problem we would read a lot more of similar issues in this forum.
I’m pretty sure, that neither hardware issues nor setting are causing this problem. Even after a new setup and with a new power supply everything between one and 15 restarts can happen.
@sihui forgive my ignorance on this, but why would a dead node cause this error.

It is beyond my scope to explain this. I was referring to posts from the zwave maintainer who mentioned this a while ago.
Maybe the binding has been improved meanwhile regarding those problems, I don’t know.
Btw, I haven’t seen those error messages since weeks, currently on #1070.
I guess it is a special binding/settings combination.
Off topic: I had some circular reference errors in my openhab.log since about two weeks. I did remember I installed the experimental rule engine for testing at that time. After uninstalling it the errors are gone …
I am still seeing this issue with the latest build. FWIW, I don’t run Z-wave. With upgrades and adding bindings, it seems to get worse. I can hardly restart without the message appearing anymore. I opened an issue #4565.
