System configuration:
- openHAB 5.2.1 release build
- LG ThinQ binding 5.2.1
- Windows 11 Pro
Using Main UI added LG ThinQ Gateway:
Thing lgthinq:cloud-account:thinq001 [language=“en-US”, country=“US”, manualLanguage=“en-US”, manualCountry=“US”, username=“???@XXXX.com”, password=“ZZZZZ”, pollingIntervalSec=600]
Results:
Status: OFFLINE
COMMUNICATION_ERROR
Communication Error with LG AP
Attempts to fix:
- restarted openHAB
- reinstalled ThinQ binding
- re-added thing
Understand there is a potential bug with manualCountry requiring uppercase with LG ThinQ binding 5.2.1.
Using ChatGPT researched Log Viewer messages. Results indicate that the “LG’s EMP authentication service is the prime suspect.” Reporting that the webpage at https://us.emp.lgsmartplatform.com/emp/v2.0/account/session/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I logged into my LG account and it appears that my LG air conditioner is registered in the US.
I also ensured that all LG terms and agreements have been accepted.
The thing is still reporting Status: OFFLINE.
