Hi all,
just to summarize: The official Openhab addon as well as the community version are not working. The only versions which can be used right now can be downloaded from GitHub - martingrassl/openhab-mybmw .
There are now two jar files:
the 3.4.5-SNAPSHOT version for the latest 3.4.x builds
the 4.0.0-SNAPSHOT version for the latest 4.0.0 builds
The jar file has to be downloaded locally (please check if the size is roughly 190kB) and put into the addons folder of the Openhab installation (in the zip file it is directly in addons of OH root folder, in Openhabian it is /usr/share/openhab/addons). If you enable the debug logging by setting “log:set DEBUG org.openhab.binding.mybmw” you should see a lot of log entries including “bundle org.openhab.binding.mybmw:4.0.0.202307022008” (4.0.0 build) or “bundle org.openhab.binding.mybmw:3.4.5.202307021957” (3.4.4 build). The files are only working in the right target environment!
The fix is requested to be merged into the main development branch since February, but unfortunately the maintainers are quite busy so they couldn’t approve it already. I still hope that this will be done until the release of 4.0.0, if not we will have to deal with this workaround longer.

I also had some difficulties as the MyBMW binding stopped working some days ago. I copied the new jar-file to addons folder and restarted OH3.4.0 but the binding didn’t work. Finally I deleted the binding and reinstalled it and now everything works. Thanks a lot for the nice work.

Probably the old binding is active again, I’ve had the same issue . Try to find the one with version 3.4.4 in the openhab console , stop it (bundle:stop <old_id>) and uninstall it (bundle:uninstall <old_id>). Then restart the new one (bundle:restart <new_id>).

I am trying to install the updated addon on my OH 3.4.4 installation but without success:

Hmmm are you sure there is no other version installed, did you check this first?

I first tried the upgrade when the old version was still installed, and when that didn’t work I removed the old version - after which the mybmw bundle indeed was gone when running the list -s command.
wrt logging, if I set log level to debug and run the install command I see the following messages. Does unfortunately not provide any insights about the reason for the failed installation:

Can you please check if the size of the jar file is 190kB? We already had the issue, that the downloaded file was the html page instead of the jar.

Instead I did a git clone of the repo and copied the file into the addons folder and it worked immediately. Thanks a lot!

I found the solution to my problem: the items in the .items file started with a digit, which is not allowed…

Instead of %unit%, just put km in your item label format.
