I am happy to announce our first milestone build towards openHAB 3.1!
It contains all fixes that we shipped with the 3.0.1 patch release earlier this week, but additionally also comes with quite a long list of new features - please find the detailed release notes at Release openHAB 3.1.0 Milestone 1 · openhab/openhab-distro · GitHub.
The milestone release is available on our download page and in the “testing” linux repositories.
We plan to do monthly milestone builds and do the final release of 3.1 around May/June this year, so that minor stable releases (3.x) are done twice a year.

Update: Unfortunately, it seems that Milestone 2 has some major issue wrt DSL rule validation. We’re analysing the issue and hope to have a fix by tomorrow with a new milestone build. I hence DO NOT RECOMMEND to upgrade to M2 right now - sorry for the inconvenience!
Another update: It turned out that it is nothing major - the exception during startup can simply be ignored.
If you are too much annoyed by it, it can be suppressed by adding this to your log4j2.xml file.

The annoying bug of M2 (see above) is fixed and with it quite many other enhancements and fixes are included.

The 3.1 GA release is planned for end of June, most likely June 28. If you are seeing any major issues in Milestone 5 (in core or any add-on), please help to address and fix them in the coming weeks - we should especially make sure to not have any regressions over the 3.0 release.

Alright, just 3 days left until the release! We have just built openHAB 3.1.0 RC1 as a first release candidate. Code base is frozen and we will only fix major and critical issues over the weekend.
Please help on bug fixing by testing, creating PRs and creating issues for critical things!
