Release Candidate and Support: Amazon Echo Control Binding

Yes. There is.

  1. Go to openhab console via “openhab-cli console”. Password is: habopen.
  2. Then execute: list -s | grep amazonechocontrol
  3. Then execute log:set WARN org.openhab.binding.amazonechocontrol

Hi there guys,

I’m not sure if i’m doing correctly when asking in this thread. If I’m wrong I’m sorry for posting.
I just set up OH2.6 (stable) on my RPi4. I used this binding before in OH 2.5 and ran into the memory leak problem (which I found out about after reinstalling everything).

So after setting up OH again I installed the binding via PaperUI and tried to login into my amazon account (which succeeds when logging in via alexa.amazon.de and worked perfectly in the previous installation) but when using the login page of the binding i get the errormessage: “Enter a valid email or phone number” (which I double checked) or I’m running into an infinite 2FA login loop which gets me back into the initial login page.

I’m kinda going crazy because I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing wrong…

Any ideas?

Best regards

Christian

I just installed the binding but I run into problems already: When opening the login site, I am forced to reset my password so an OTP is send. After entering that OTP, I only get “Invalid redirect to…” as error and my only option is to click on “Try again”. AM I doing something wrong or is something broken? My amazon account has 2FA activated, if that makes a change

I had the same issue today and was fixed by latest SNAPSHOT 2.5.7 located here:
https://ci.openhab.org/job/openHAB2.5.x-Addons/ws/bundles/org.openhab.binding.amazonechocontrol/target/

I just did and it works like a charm!
Thx for the quick response!

Just one more question: Do I have to keep track of binding updates manually - since i installed the .jar file?

Using the jar, you have to do the updates manually.

But the updates are merged, see this post:

Hello,
I also installed the current snapshot today because I am also hanging in a registration loop (2FA with the smartphone).
I also deleted the cache etc., but unfortunately it still doesn’t work.
Do you have any ideas what else I can do?

Best regards

Sascha

Try to disbale 2FA for a limited time untill your registered your account with OH. I have not enabled 2FA and tested, sorry…

Than you a lot. Now it works

for me, no login is possible.

Login-Screen shows “Please enter a valid email or phone number”…no chance to login anymore.
I have not enabled 2FA…

Somebody any ideas?

hi @michi,

do you know about this problem?
Seems to be changes at the alexa-website…

ralph

Can you tell me where to find the latest snapshot to download specifically the echo jar? The download directories seem to change every now and then. I am not using the openhabian-config to update.

Hello everyone and especially to the developers of this module,
@ottogj @michi

For some time now, Amazon has been making major changes to their identification page and home automation communities have been trying to understand what has changed and what needs to be corrected.
I take care of the Alexa-API module for Jeedom and I’m stuck

I see that Apollon77 is also in trouble.

I tested your version 2.5.7 and it works. Can you put us on the track to correct the problem?
A thousand thanks to all of you.

Je crois que apolon77 est en train de rectifier le tir sur iobroker/alexaremote2 .

Je crois que tu aura plus de feedback de son côté puisque l’auteur ici ne répond plus depuis un bout ( des modifs récentes on étés faites par la communauté) .

I am now having the same problem as @RalphSester.

The binding suddenly stopped working this night and I am simply not able to login any longer. I am definitely using the right credentials, but I get the message " “Please enter a valid email or phone number”, simply as if my account would not exist any longer.

I can login on the official Amazon website without any problem.

No matter if I am using 2.5.6 or the 2.5.7-SNAPSHOT version.

Any ideas?

If I try to login with another E-Mail address (from an old Amazon account I do not use any longer) I am stuck in the “change the password”-loop.

This is an international forum - please type english!

Please try to login with your amazonaccount in the binding-website. type your e-mail an password manually. do not use a browser-stored or cached credentials. this was the trick for me…

Absolutely no chance.

Tried it from different PC’s and different browsers.
I changed my Amazon password several times, now even when I try to login on the normal website I have to confirm my identity with an OTP…

As I said before: this is a known issue and already investigated. It seems that Amazon changed some parts of the login process.
