[SOLVED] SEVERE - OpenHAB 2.5M3 doesn't start after cache clearing

  • Platform information:
    • Hardware: Intelx86 4GBRAM 128GBSSD
    • OS: Ubuntu18.04LTS
    • Java Runtime Environment: Zulu uptodate
    • openHAB version: 2.5M3
  • Issue of the topic: After clearing the cache and a restart I have a [SEVERE] error and the log in going into a loop at startup

approx every 7 seconds

Now I get java.io.FileNotFoundException: /var/lib/openhab2/cache/org.eclipse.osgi/.manager/.fileTableLock (Permission denied) that I have a permission error

Why now? Never happened before.
The rest of the system works, node-red, pi-hole…
I can ssh in the system
Frontail is running
And the samba shares are running

And I must admit I am not very good at the linux file permissions stuff…

sudo openhab-cli start in the terminal starts the system
There seems to be a problem with the service launcher permissions…

If you search for

fileTableLock (Permission denied)

there seem to be identical issues after clearing the cache, for example:

You also need to be sure you are running Java 8 and not a newer version. Saying uptodate is not a valid version number for Java.
