Bind Yi Outdoor Cam to openHab

Hi community!
I freshly setted up my OpenHab server and I’m stuck at the binding of my Yi Outdoor cam.
I already applied the YiHack on the Cam, so the RTSP server is already working.
As binding addon I used IpCamera: New IP Camera Binding, does anyone have a working configuration or experience with the Yi Cam and the IPCam binding? Is there a chance to get it work?

It should work as the binding will use ffmpeg to talk with the camera so unless it has an issue all will be good. I would hold off for a few days as there are breaking changes coming and if u wait you only need to learn the binding once as they are going to be multiple big changes before the binding gets built into openHAB.

I already have ffmpeg installed on my openhab server, but unfortunately ffmpeg doesn’t include ffserver anymore, so I can’t start a ffserver.

As a Thing i chose ’ ONVIF" Generic IP camera with ONVIF support.’ in openHab.
This is my configuration so far:

Anything I have to add, so that I’m able to see the stream?
OpenHab displays the camera as “online” while I can’t see a picture of the cam.

Set what server port you wish to use.
Then if you don’t have a snapshot URL set the override to be ffmpeg.
Same for the stream source, set it to ffmpeg and not a URL. Just the lower case word “ffmpeg”.

The rest looks right. The see the readme on how to view the streams.

I now managed to see the stream under the ip:port - the port number is the number i set in the configuartion and the IP is the IP of the openhab server.
Now how can I retrieve motion events and visualize the stream at the dashboard?

PS: I read the readme but I just can’t figure it out.

Best you change to the newer version of the binding and use the newer readme file…

I upgraded now to the latest version and did the bindings via the given configuration files in the readme.

I skipped uploading the .items file.

I found 2 bugs and uploaded a newer version for you to try. Also please post what happens in words and not just logs, by that I mean does the camera go offline, or does it show the stream with only those logs created…

I upgraded to the latest version, now the streams are working!
Unfortunately I do not receive any motion events - not even in the logs. In the config i set ffmpeg as alarmInputUrl like in the previous post. Is there anything else I can do?

Leave that config blank, ffmpeg in there will not work and will break it.

Alright I left it now blank and there are still no motion events visible in the logs.

Update to todays build and then post some log output (TRACE) of what happens when you move the ffmpegMotionControl channel. I had it working tonight using a ESP32 camera setup as a generic camera.

I updated to the latest version. Unfortunately there’s still no motion alarm. Here’s the LOG:

Your cpu can’t reach 1.0x speed so either you need to provide a lower res feed, Lower the frame rate, or get a bigger cpu.

Generally frame rates above 12-10fps are seen as a waste of bandwidth and storage In camera setups.

Your stream is 20fps.

Is there a way to set the FPS to 10?

I’ve been trying out different values now, from 0-17 but none of the levels work. Is there another thing I can try to get the motion alarms working?

Everything seems to be looking good in your logs and I cant see any bugs in the code. My guess is the alarm channel is not linked correctly, are you using item files or using the UI to create and link the items? The channel ffmpegMotionAlarm must be the one you link and watch to see the alarm status on.
