Z-Wave database addition

Continuing the discussion from Testing Z-Wave binding on openHAB-2:

@icanhazpython just starting a new thread on this as it’s not directly part of the binding testing…

Yes - it will need to be added. I don’t see this specific device in the database.

That’s the first thing - upload the XML, then you’ll need to manually add any configuration or association information which you’ll need to get from the manual. Take a look through the documentation - it explains what to do, and if you have any questions, then please ask.

There are a number of threads here where I’ve published information on this -:

Again, there are a number of other threads if you do a search on the forum, and the database is quite well documented I think -:

If you can’t find what you’re after, then feel free to ask, but hopefully this helps :slightly_smiling:. Clearly OH2 is new, so it will take time to get all the documentation updated as it unfortunately can’t happen overnight.

Ok, I read the docs on the database, but it didn’t answer this: after I find configuration and association info from the device manufacturer, is there any way to test the device on my system, instead of waiting for the next database update to come out?

Yes - You can export the XML from the database, add it to the IDE and compile the binding for testing…
