(DNS issue) All links in topics pointing to community.openhab.org are broken

I’m not sure when it started happening but for some time now links in various topics which point to community.openhab.org are broken because the subdomain no longer exists. Simply replacing discourse with community fixes the problem.
Is it possible to add a CNAME record for community.openhab.org pointing to community.openhab.org to fix the links?

That was a temporary setting after we migrated to a new server. It should only affect posts that were created in that timeframe. I’d rather fix the links in the posts than permanently adding a new sub domain - if there are not too many.

I find 47 results: Search results for 'community.openhab.org' - openHAB Community

Interestingly, some of the posts are years old - I am a bit puzzled, why they point to community.openhab.org

The search does not seem to be complete, e.g. this topic General Scene Rule for jsr223 is not in the search results yet it contains a link in the first line pointing to General best practices for maintainable rule and item arrangements

Also some links to emojis no longer seem to work, e.g. in this topic Apparently everyone can edit anyone's topic title - #6 by Larsen

I don’t know if some some search ‘n replace is possible over all topics. I only know discourse as a user, not as an admin.

It is - I am just running it: Change the domain name or rename your Discourse - Self-Hosting - Discourse Meta

I checked a couple of topic and it looks good to me. The emoticons are working as well again.
Thanks Kai!

You are too quick @marcel_erkel, the job is still running:

It should hopefully be fully done by tonight - but glad to hear that it seems to work well so far.

Now this opening post has been changed and doesn’t make sense anymore  Took me a while until I realized that search/replace was done and that’s why it happened.

Yes, it would have been nice when the script had been a bit more sophisticated and would have only replaced discourse.openhab.org with community.openhab.org for actual link URLs. At least the links work again now.

Might the perceived disappearance of images be an unwanted side effect of this operation?

Dear all , perhaps related.

I do also have problems in viewing some of the older post with pictures. Especially on the UI marketplace : Broken Pictures in Marketplace

in a lot of the posts screenshots or pictures inposts they are replaced by a transparent link : https://community.openhab.org/images/transparent.png and e.g. only display a white space instead of the picture posted.

I am not an expert , but perhaps related?

Can you point me to a post that shows a https://community.openhab.org/images/transparent.png?

Here’s one that has the transparent.png.

This is what it looks like for me:

Hello Kai,

Hey,

i.e. Timeline picker to setup heating, light and so on any post in here

Could be any thread randomly picked.

Is this still being worked on? Makes it hard to search or use the forum properly. Or is everything lost now?

Don’t get me wrong, but this makes it unattractive and hard for newcomers (and even long time users).

Unfortunately, that still doesn’t seem to be working. This makes searching and using the forum very difficult.

see End-user configurable, Time-Profile-based control (For Lights, Heating, and more)!

For example, you can no longer view images there.

I’m sorry for this situation and I am aware of it. I have already tried a ton of fixes, but nothing helped. I have now a 16GB database dump that I want to analyze locally to see, if the missing associations can be somehow recovered. Unfortunately, I am right now on a business trip, so it’ll take a bit until I’ll find time again to dive deep into this…

FWIW, this topic here is about wrong links to other posts and I think this is fully fixed. The topic you mention about missing images is OH Community Site Images Missing?.
